I was very disappointed in what I witnessed at the youth baseball game on Saturday. A board member became visibly angry, even removing their board badge during the game, and their behavior created an uncomfortable and negative environment for families and players. It’s concerning to see league leadership act in such an unprofessional way, especially when they’re supposed to be setting the example for kids. This isn’t the first time it feels like personal issues or grudges have been brought into the park instead of keeping the focus on the players. The league has so much potential, but until stronger and more respectful leadership is in place, I don’t believe the park will reach the level our kids deserve.

Extremely Disappointed by Lack of Fairness and Accountability As a parent, I’m heartbroken and disappointed by how East Youth Athletic Park handled our team's recent playoff situation. Our boys earned their wins fairly on the field, only to have their victory and chance to advance taken away due to unproven accusations and clear adult bias. The board gave us just 3 hours' notice before forcing a forfeit, despite being present and involved during the original game in question. There was no due process, no evidence presented, and only three board members (two of whom are married and have a child in the league) made the final decision—raising serious concerns about conflict of interest. Worse, after the game, an opposing coach called one of ours a “loser” and was only given a one-game suspension—while our entire team was removed from competition. The double standards are glaring, and it’s painful to see children punished for what clearly appear to be adult politics and personal grudges. We also can’t ignore the racial bias many of us have felt all season. Our team is primarily Hispanic, and we’ve often been told we were “too loud” or “too proud.” But our cultural expression should never be treated as misconduct. One former board member who was present for a current board member, remained neutral and fair throughout this process yesterday due a parent meeting with the board, and his honesty confirmed what we already knew—this situation was handled poorly and unfairly. This experience has left many families hurt and frustrated. We’re moving forward, but I hope the league takes a serious look at how things were handled so no other group of kids has to go through this again.

I am compelled to share my experience at Eastbay youth athletic which has been nothing short of disappointing. This park has shown a blatant lack of fairness and respect for the children and parents involved. If your child is not part of the board's inner circle, they might as well be invisible. It seems that only the board members' kids get opportunities, such as being included in the All-Star teams, regardless of their actual talent or effort. This blatant favoritism takes opportunities away from deserving kids who work hard and have real potential. Moreover, the disrespect from board members is palpable. There’s a significant conflict of interest when board members are married to each other, leading to biased decisions that prioritize their own children over others. Overall, my experience at this park has been horrible, and I cannot recommend it to other parents. If you care about fairness and your child's growth in sports, I suggest looking elsewhere. Don’t take your child here.

The current board is a joke. One of them threatened to assault me, and nothing is done, yet the same parent complained because our team keeps winning. Clearly, abuse of power and is unwarranted. There are a lot of other issues that I can keep going on about, but dont need to. Kept the names of the board members out of this as there is no need to call them out. They know who they are. Quick update, so the person who threatened to assault me has now become the new chairman for the league since the current chairman decided to step down before the season ended. This same person is so childish and has a vendetta against our child's team that after our team won its playoff game, 24 hours later, they forfeited our teams win. In all my years playing growing up and all my years of having my child play, I have never seen grown adults take away a win from a team. If you are on the fence of wanting to sign your child up for this little league, I would suggest going somewhere else, at least until the current board members are replaced.

I want to share my experience regarding the atmosphere at Eastbay While the park provides a space for our children to enjoy baseball and develop their skills, there are significant concerns regarding the behavior of some board members. Recently, I witnessed instances where parents were not treated with the respect they deserve. Communication from board members often lacks empathy, especially when it comes to addressing the needs and concerns of our growing generation. It's crucial for those in leadership positions to foster a supportive environment—not just for the children but for their families as well. Youth sports should be about teamwork, growth, and community. I hope the board will take steps to improve their interactions with parents and demonstrate a greater understanding of the challenges families face or even better leave your role. A more respectful and empathetic approach would greatly enhance our experience at the park and positively impact our children’s development in sports and life! Our experience left our kids with a a heartache. For that I warn parents to take your child somewhere else . I can go on on the horrible experience we have had . But I’d need a whole book . Don’t bring your kids here till all member are gone .
