I was visiting all the way from Maryland on a business trip, and this place did not disappoint. I dropped in for a sparring session and was met with high-level fighters and top-tier etiquette — something I truly respect in a gym. I've been training for almost 3 years now, and I can confidently say this gym is top-notch. Big thanks to Coach Russell for welcoming me in. My only regret is not having more time to train here... but I’ll definitely be back!

Top tier training facility for fitness and martial arts. It’s a one stop shop for you and your family. You really get your bang for your buck, especially if you have a busy schedule. You don’t need a separate gym membership. They offer multiple classes all day (including the best strength & conditioning program), running in parallel for both adults and kids, and professional instructors. My kids and I have learned and developed so much here. Thank you Underdog MMA!!

Wow lots to say about this academy. First of all the facilities are great! Tons of mats, workout equipment, showers etc. I attended the NoGi and Gi class (in that order) as an out of state guest; my professor used to train here regularly and recommended I visit. I liked that the NoGi and Gi class did the same technique so it helped me learn it much better. I rolled with a lot of colored belts and one of the professors. Fantastic rolls. Wonderful welcoming attitude from everyone. They even let my local friend join the class last minute. Thank you for hosting me and my friend.

They really live up to their recommendations. There's a camaraderie here that you don't find in many places. Great gym to train in. It's clean, the schedules are fantastic and everyone is always trying to help each other out. It's a safe place that tolerates many different religions and walks of life and teaches respect for yourself and your community. I've trained here. My kids train here. I paid for lessons and I ended up with a network of family and friends I'm still learning new things from.

This gym really goes above and beyond. It’s hard to put your finger on just one aspect of what makes it a special place. They have built a world class community of trainers, instructors and masseurs. Coach John Durrett really puts his all into his classes and you can tell that he really cares about the goals of his members. This is reflected in every coach/trainer I’ve interacted with as well. They hold themselves to a very high standard. If you’re looking for a gym that has an incredibly welcoming community, this is the place for you.

This gym is the best! There is something for everyone at every skill level. The coaches are amazing and work with everyone to help them reach their personal goals. From the pros to the newbies they will help push you to being better each day. Welcoming gym, knowledgeable coaches, family and team environment. This is the place to be!

Underdog Mixed Martial Arts is a great school with an unbelievable staff! The atmosphere is welcoming from the moment you walk in. It is a perfect gym if you want to be a competitive martial artist or just all around looking to improve your life through physical activity. It is the premier gym in Connecticut. Highly recommended!
