Eastshore Alliance Fútbol Club

We had to leave mid way through our season due to issues with coaching. They tend to have the same coaches with teams for many years without changing, so if your player does not vibe with the coach or vice-versa it is a tricky. The club does NOT want feedback on coaches, or in general, so if this is important to you you will not get that here. Our child had the same awful coach for 3 years and finally we had enough and sadly, it put him completely off soccer. Each year half the team would leave and the club still would not listen. Coaches are very hit or miss at EAFC

My son has played with EAFC since the club formed in Fall of 2023, and he is currently in the 2016B Navy group. We live in Berkeley and are very fortunate to have such a great club in our backyard. All of his coaches at EAFC have been top-notch--passionate about the sport and deeply committed to each player's development. We hope that the City of Berkeley will improve the Club's access to playing fields to make this an even more enriching experience for our kids!

My son has been a player for this club from the beginning, Kindergarten I think. Now he's in the second oldest age group, crazy! I feel fortunate he's learned how to play soccer in what I would consider the "right way", possession, passing, building from the back. All the coaches he's had have excellent! We live in Albany now but were in Berkeley for many years and I think they're just the best club in the area, including El Cerrito and Richmond too. Just wish we had more fields to play on. It always seems to be a struggle to accommodate all the teams each season, but that's not because of the club and I know they're working hard to find more. Through refereeing, my son and I have seen the younger teams and recreational teams (he's on a very competitive team) and same all the way through, just good coaching, great parents and great soccer. Highly recommend!

Our family is in Albany, and our son recently started with Eastshore Alliance. We really appreciate how organized the club. The communication and planning has been excellent. In just the first few sessions, it's clear they've struck a nice balance between developing skills for athletes on a more competitive track while keeping things fun.

Outstanding experience with Eastshore Alliance! We have two kids currently at EAFC, a 2016 daughter and 2014 son, both playing on the top level competitive teams. We have been with the club since the beginning and were with Spur Fc before that. Important to us was finding a local Berkeley/Eastbay club where the kids would get top notch training and the opportunity to play at the highest levels (EAFC is the only local ECNL-RL club), but also where we could build a supportive community with the players and families and develop lifelong friends. All the players and families for both kids teams could not be more amazing and supportive and we love going to every game and hanging out with everyone!! Importantly, part of this is thanks to the club mentality and coaches strong emphasis on teamwork and support. Look forward to many more years with EAFC as they continue to build and develop a top notch soccer club for our Eastbay community!

We have been with the club since the merger. What we have found with our children is that the top tier teams get preferential treatment-so that works well for them. If you are not top tier, you are paying the same but getting much less access to good coaching, getting worse grass fields and less attention in general. Very poor selection of clubs in the area now that they have merged so not a lot of choice to move....

Very well organized and well run. Truly a great community in El Cerrito and Berkeley. They have fantastic coaching staff. When my kid was 6, he told me he wanted to be a coach when he grew up - that's a high a praise as one can get from a kid!

The coaches are dedicated, and great with the kids. We often do not have any field space just prior to league games, which puts us at a disadvantage when the season starts. We don’t know when we will practice next for most of August. Berkeley could do better here, and so could El Cerrito High School. However, if EAFC has too many teams to support them. We should perhaps have fewer teams.
